Review: Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars (Pretty Little Liars #1)
by Sara Shepard

Blurb:

Three years ago, Alison disappeared after a slumber party, not to be seen since. Her friends at the elite Pennsylvania school mourned her, but they also breathed secret sighs of relief. Each of them guarded a secret that only Alison had known. Now they have other dirty little secrets, secrets that could sink them in their gossip-hungry world. When each of them begins receiving anonymous emails and text messages, panic sets in. Are they being betrayed by some one in their circle? Worse yet: Is Alison back? A strong launch for a suspenseful series.

My Thoughts:

5 stars :)
Of course, I discovered this book thanks to the TV show which I absolutely love and I was a little scared that I would keep comparing the book to the show and guess what? I did LOL. But surprisingly, it wasn't a problem whatsoever.

The whole book is basically episode 1 and 2 of the tv show with slight differences. (a lot more developed obviously) and I think it's great.

It was fast paced, with a simple but entertaining style. I was almost ready for a flat story but shockingly it is not AT ALL. The characters depth achieved is amazing and it is just the beginning. The author really knows how to bring them to life.

The book is in third person and each chapter focuses mainly on one of the girls at a time, Hanna, Spencer, Emily and Aria.

Hanna is a little wilder than in the show, Spencer too. Emily ... I didn't like her very much. I don't like her in the show either. And Aria, she is my favorite in both.
The differences I've found are not bad, I just had to get adjusted. Passed that, it is an enthralling story.
Spencer and Wren's moments were particularly awesome!

I read it in one day. And luckily for me I have the whole box set waiting in my bookshelf!

I won't make this long, since almost every single person in this world has watched or heard about the show so, I just wanted to say that reading this book is totally worth it.

I  hope you liked it!
Rhomy.
